The Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum, 1305 Arizona St., Boulder
City, houses historical artifacts relating to the workers and
construction of Hoover Dam. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays;
and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. General admission is $2, $1 for senior

BRUNO'S INDIAN & TURQUOISE MUSEUM AND INDIAN VILLAGE
Bruno's Indian & Turquoise Museum and Indian Village, 1306
Nevada Highway, Boulder City, features a turquoise museum, a
trading post, an art gallery, a cultural center, displays and

CASINO LEGENDS HALL OF FAME
The Casino Legends Hall of Fame at the Tropicana, 3801 Las Vegas
Blvd. South, features a collection of Nevada gaming memorabilia.
More than 738 casinos are represented in the museum, 550 of which
no longer exist. The collection includes framed historical photographs
and documents; audio and video news footage; and more than 8,000

DESERT VALLEY MUSEUM
The Desert Valley Museum, 31 Mesquite Blvd., Mesquite, features
pioneer and American Indian artifacts from the Virgin Valley
area from the late 1800s through early 1900s. Hours are 9 a.m.

ELVIS-A-RAMA MUSEUM
The Elvis-a-Rama Museum, 3401 Industrial Road, features more
than $5 million of authentic inventory of Elvis' personal items
including his 1955 Cadillac limousine, and his blue suede shoes.

GEORGE L. STURMAN MUSEUM OF FINE ART

HOWARD W. CANNON AVIATION MUSEUM
The Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum, above the baggage claim
on level two at McCarran International Airport, 5757 Wayne Newton
Blvd., features the history of aviation in Southern Nevada, from
the first flight in 1920 to the introduction of jets. The museum
focuses on the history of commercial and general aviation. Open

LAS VEGAS ART MUSEUM
The Las Vegas Art Museum, 9600 W. Sahara Ave., has 15,000 square
feet of exhibition space. The museum emphasizes contemporary
art, stressing art after post-modernism. Museum hours are 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays (360-8000).
LAS VEGAS NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North,
offers an animated dinosaur exhibit, a diorama of Southern Nevada
and a shark exhibit featuring a 3,000-gallon aquarium. "Out
of Africa" is a new permanent exhibit. The museum also includes
a children's hands-on room, wildlife room, an ichthyosaur exhibit

The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History on the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, features
permanent exhibits on old and modern Las Vegas as well as Smithsonian
exhibits (895-3381).
MUSEUM OF MEMORIES
The Museum of Memories at the Ramada Express, 2121 S. Casino
Drive, Laughlin, features exhibits, vintage movies and newsreels,
dance contests, a World War II Spitfire airplane, military vehicles
in the parking lot and free rides on the Troop Train. ©On

is presented on the hour, once an hour, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
in the Pavilion Theater. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission

NEVADA STATE MUSEUM
Nevada State Museum & Historical Society, 700 Twin Lakes
Drive, has permanent exhibits on regional and natural history
with a 13-foot articulated mammoth skeleton and an in-depth treatment
of Las Vegas during the 1940s. Admission is $2, free for children
younger than 18 (486-5205).
NEVADA TEST SITE HISTORY CENTER
The Nevada Test Site History Center, 2621 Losee Road, North Las
Vegas features multimedia displays, artifacts and memorabilia
associated with the 50 year history of the nuclear testing activities.
Hours are Mondays-Fridays, noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free (295-1198).
SEARCHLIGHT HISTORIC MUSEUM
The Searchlight Historic Museum & Historic Mining Park offers
self-guided tours featuring the history of Searchlight and its
residents. The museum is inside the Searchlight Community Center,
200 Michael Wendell Way, Searchlight. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mondays-Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is
free (297-1682).
THUNDERBIRD MUSEUM
Thunderbird Museum, 4445 Tyndall Ave., offers tours at 2 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visitors should go to the Nellis Air
Force Base main gate by 1:45 p.m. Admission is free (652-7200).
